Truths to rest on in your waiting

If you are being honest with your feelings, how are you today?

Are you lost? Anxious? Bothered?

Napatanong ka na din ba, “Lord, nakikita mo pa po ba ko?”

In-the-Waiting

Perhaps you have unanswered prayers since last year or even years before that. You continue doing your best for God’s glory yet deep inside you compare yourself to others’ success stories and feel sad.

You might be waiting for an overdue promotion, salary increase, a new born child, loved ones’ healing or for God’s best yet it feels like God is not listening. Now, the question is, how would you respond?

In times like these, let us be encouraged by the stories of waiting in the Bible. It took 40 years before the Israelites reached the Promised Land. King David was anointed when he was 15 years old yet he only became king when he was thirty. And approximately 750 years passed between the writing of the prophecy about Jesus in Isaiah 9:6, and the birth of Jesus Christ. People are not certain if God’s promises will be fulfilled but yes they have been, and will always be. 2 Peter 3:9 says

The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent”

God never has forgotten you and He never will. Di ka lang nya nakikita, di ka din nya nalilimutan. Whatever negative feeling you are experiencing right now is valid, but never forget the love of Jesus expressed through the cross.

Heart Check

Let’s check our hearts, “What am I more concern with, my petitions or getting closer to God?” Some of our prayers may seemed unanswered but let them be opportunities to know God and in this waiting period He will still be glorified.

God is writing your beautiful story. God is directing your steps. God is moulding you to be more and more like Christ. God sees you. God has never forgotten you. He is always for you and will never fail you. As it says in Psalm 37:24, “though they stumble, they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand”

Let us rest on these truths about our Saviour and Lord Jesus Christ.
