Hope and Grace for the New Normal

Today, July 1, marks the start of the second half of 2020. The first half of 2020 is anything but easy. Our fears and anxieties still linger as we try to cope with the new normal.

Let us take these as triggers that set us off to discover the One who will calm our fears and rest our anxieties.

He is our Hope. He is our Rock. With our security being shaken and threatened by the recent crisis, it only proves that everything in this world will fail and fade. Our response should be to rest on our Rock — Jesus Christ. He is our Firm Foundation. In Him, we can be secured. Everything that is apart from Him, to which we anchor our lives upon, is sinking sand.

He brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry clay, And He set my feet upon a rock making my footsteps firm.” — Psalm 40:2

God’s grace for us is Christ. “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” — Romans 5:8. He died so we can have the security. So we can be brought out of the pit of destruction and miry clay of sin. He died so we can experience the fullness of life in Him for eternity. In Him, we can hope and never be disappointed. In Him, all grace abounds.

May the new normal open the eyes of our hearts to see, more vividly, the true hope and grace found in Jesus Christ. May we have a New Normal view of Christ. Let us prepare our hearts to see Him anew, in every circumstance.
