HOW DO WE RESPOND TO GOD’S PROMISES? Is it to trust? Or to doubt?

Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life; the one who believes in Me will live, even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this? — John 11: 25–26

Do you believe?

While reading this scripture, I remembered when I was still a badminton varsity in College, There was this opponent that I was convinced that we cannot beat, however my coach told us to trust her and her coaching during the game and me and my partner will win and so we did.

The reason why I remembered it is because there are instances in our lives that we know God`s promises and yet we still don`t believe and needs to be asked by God, just like this passage in John 11:25-26 when Jesus told Martha that her brother will rose from the dead, even though Martha`s response is that she believes that her brother will be rosen God still affirms her and even asked her Do you believe this?. After this Martha went away and called Mary that Jesus is within the vicinty.

How about us? is there a point in our life that we truly believe God`s promises in our lives?

When it does not feel like it, trust in the Lord

There will come a time that God`s promises does not show in what is happening in our lives, there will also be a time that even if we are asking for peace and He is telling us to trust in Him it will be very difficult, but know this, even if the future is dark we have hope in God because He fulfilled His promise to us when He gave His Son Jesus to die for our sins.

I hope that this will be a reminder to us to trust in the Lord.
